Who we are

Alan Ross flew reconnaissance aeroplanes in the Royal Air Force. In charge of oil/gas platforms in the North Sea before moving to Perth, Western Australia where he was Safety Manager for Woodside, in the high-risk environment of the North West Shelf Project, being instrumental in setting, and achieving, best practice performance. Woodside became a benchmark within Australia. In Abu Dhabi – the same high-risk hydrocarbon environment but with a multi-cultural, mostly Third World workforce - again best practice results were achieved.

More recently he worked for Eurostar, a state of the art high-speed rail operation, and Railtrack, which managed the UK rail network. Victorian Public Transport Safety Regulator from 1998-2000, seeing the rail industry move into privatisation. Independent consultant with over 40 clients.

Katherine Ross brings 30 years experience of all aspects of the publishing industry to the consultancy. She trained as a journalist on a local paper in Northern Ireland in the late 1970s covering everything from the political unrest to flower shows. She has lived and worked in the UK, Ireland, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and now Australia. Before moving to Australia, she was Head of Publications Services, Publicity and Public Relations at the Institute of Development Studies (at the University of Sussex) – the internationally renowned centre for research and teaching on development. Her work regularly appears in national and international papers, trade press and magazines. She is also an accomplished public speaker.
